Back to reality and more rigs in process…

The last few months have been pretty busy, between dealing with insurance snafus, getting Maya licensed and working, and putting time into both more rigging projects and helping make sure my brother gets to take a break from his busy workload to see and spend time with his newborn son Daniel. That having been said, on to what’s been happening.

I have a project in the works, using free, legally available models. I’ve got two models set up in HumanIK, which is new for me, but they are going to be doing some intense combat.Altair Link

*I am not claiming ownership of the IP that these two characters represent. I’m just using the models to practice my rigging and animation abilities. They were both acquired on CreativeCrash.com as legal, free to use models.*

Also got some non-human rigs in the work, one is a cute little Chimera, made by my friend Sarah Kisor.

The second is an alienish cat, made by my friend Liam Savage.

Little creepy, huh? He’s for a horror game, supposed to be creepy.

New stuff, incoming…

Finishing up work on another project at ye olde college, the Art Institute of Seattle.

Game is called Dromeda. I was called upon to make rigs for the female NPCs and main character. A project section will be posted later, hopefully with a playable demo.

Very hush-hush…

Been talking with some folks for an independent project. Can’t really tell you anything about it.

I can do this, though.

It’s not even out of infancy yet. Though the future is looking bright.

Project: Cooler

Model is an original work of Charlie Cunningham based on the character of Cooler from the Dragonball Z franchise. Check him out here http://www.artcannon.com/

My goal is to get facial plates to retract and deploy smoothly, generate geometry for his energy attacks, full facial controls and prehensile feet.

As of this post, it’s been about 14 hours work, having had issues with the non-human foot style.

Cooler Face Shield Retracted

The Cooler model with the face plates retracted into the head. For that extra bit of sinister.

Cooler Rig Face Shield

How the Cooler model came, before I was able to make the facial plates retract.
